Nerd

By definition, "An intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit." 
       Intelligent: My mom says I am
       Single-minded: depends on what definition you look at 
       Obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit: Most definitely. 

There are a few hobbies that I posses that are social, well really only one is, drinking. It's not a hobby that I do everyday and that I don't do abundently but one that I enjoy. I like trying new beers and trying new alcohols. 
  
But that is for a different day. Today we are going to talk about by definition what makes me nerdy. Well lets see, I read, I crochet, I write (or at least I used to, I haven't done it in a long time), I play video games, I do photography....That's about it that I can think of off the top of my head. By definition those things are done one your own, and not with a social group. Yea you can join groups that you talk about these things or learn new techniques however, the majority of the time these things are done on your own. 

Reading is or at least used to by my largest vice. I would read a book a week when I was in high school, now I'm lucky if I get to read a book a month. With being in school and what not its hard as crap to try and read and then try and do homework as well. However, I'm in my last semester and I am finding more time for me to do this hobby that I once really enjoyed. So far this year, I'm on my second book. The first one took forever for me to read but I am reading something now that is a little light hearted and a quicker read (not as thick), I'll post a review when I am done. 

My dorkiness was to an all time high in high school. I would cover my books with contact paper. This would protect the cover from bends or creases when I would carry them in my backpack or purse. It would also prevent creases in the spine as well. Of course I could only do this on the paperbacks. 


I'll talk about my other vices later. Joys of being at work I can only get away with being on the computer while the boss is away!
