The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling

The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling
Published: 2012
Setting: Pagford, England
2.5 stars, rounded to 3

The story takes place in a small fictional English town of Pagford. This story starts out with the death of one of the more prominent men in the town, who is involved and wants to make a change in people's lives. Little does he know he has more effect then he ever would have thought. The story that follows the opening scene is not one of just his family but of everyone in the town that he effected, in some way or another.

I started this book with an open mind, knowing that it wasn't going to be Harry Potter but to be honest, I was a little let down as a whole. I feel like JK Rowling is more of a children's author and should honestly stick to that. I loved the Harry Potter series and she should stick to something along those lines, not like she has to ever write another book the rest of her life.
